THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE
As we look forward to the Ascension of the Lord, Jesus speaks words of comfort: “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” In the face of uncertainty and fear, He calls His disciples (us) into a relationship built on trust. Jesus points to his ascension by predicting “…I am going to prepare a place for you… You know the way to the place I am going”
In response to Thomas’ question, “How can we know the way?” Jesus reveals one of His seven “I am” sayings: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” Thomas’ search for clarity opens the way for a deeper understanding of who Jesus is.
Though the disciples did not fully grasp His words at the time, the truth of Christ’s glory is later affirmed by Stephen, who declares, “I see the Son of Man at the right hand of God” (Acts 7:55), even unto martyrdom.
Jesus does not simply show the way; He is the way. In a world of uncertainty, He remains our sure path to the Father.
When you feel lost, Jesus is the Way.
When you are confused, Jesus is the Truth.
When you are weary, Jesus is the Life.
