Welcome to St. Michael’s Christmas Pageant! Christmas is a very special time for children. Today, our special gift to you is a journey back in time to the very first Christmas when God gave us the best gift of all.
Christmas is about the story we know well — It all started with a girl named Mary who was engaged to a man named Joseph. Along with the lambs, the kings, and angels. But as I continue to reflect this third week in advent, could we just ask ourselves and know more about who is sitting around you as you watch the Christmas Pageant retold. Also, I think that it is about gathering together around the manger and praying for ourselves, our loved ones and our church family.
Perhaps its time to remember again that love and faith can create miracles. We remember each other, far away or down the street. Brought together shoulder to shoulder in the dark, away from the noise of our daily lives; we remember our similarities far outnumber our differences, and that each of us belong to this church family.
I hope we can all find time to remember the people who’ve come before us, surround us today, and those we have yet to meet. The love and care of family, baptized in the community of Jesus, bonded in love and memory, and witness to miracles. That is my wish for all of us as we celebrate together and once more witness our children re-tell the story of Jesus to all of us.
Thank you! I just wanted to say thank you to each and every member of our parish congregation. I may not be able to say these powerful words personally to all of you in the next week or so. I deeply appreciate all that you do to keep our congregation faithful to its calling and assisting me carry out the various ministry of our church. Embracing an active participation in Our Savior’s birth can profoundly change your perspective! May God continue to bless you and your family. Merry Christmas! Fr. Louie and Family.
