John the Baptist prepared the way for the Coming of the Lord much like we would prepare our cities, towns, churches and homes for the coming of guests, relatives and Jesus. On the outside we decorate, bake and clean. But what are we doing on the inside? Are we preparing ourselves for the Birth of Christ in to us? Have we made our temples clean; emptied ourselves of the old that we may embrace the new?
Are we truly preparing ourselves for the welcoming of the new comer? Are we able to accept a new philosophy to accept what we cannot change? Are we willing to stand apart and say that this is what Jesus taught us and we will do the same? We will put on the cloak of Christ by welcoming the poor, the different, the challenged into our hearts and lives. As He would do. Krista Fry.
